SHOW SYNOPSIS

It’s a dark and stormy night, and our cast of oddball characters has been invited to a very unusual dinner party. Each of the guests has an alias, the butler offers a variety of weapons, and the host is, well, dead. So whodunit? Join the iconic oddballs known as Scarlet, Plum, White, Green, Peacock and Mustard as they race to find the murderer in Boddy Manor before the body count stacks up. Based on the cult classic film and the popular board game, Clue is a madcap comedy that will keep you guessing until the final twist.

CLUE
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS

WADSWORTH

The manor’s impeccably proper British butler and the driving force behind the evening’s events. Precise, tightly wound, and determined to maintain control amid mounting chaos. A role for a performer with verbal agility, physical precision, and commanding comic timing. British dialect.

YVETTE

The manor’s alluring French maid. Flirtatious and seemingly devoted to her duties, she is part of the intrigue rather than simply an observer. A role that invites confident physical characterization and playful comic timing. French dialect.

MISS SCARLET

A sophisticated Washington, D.C., madam with a sharp tongue and an instinct for finding other people’s weaknesses. Confident, cynical, and difficult to rattle, she understands the power of a well-kept secret. Her humor is dry, knowing, and direct.

MRS. PEACOCK

A wealthy senator’s wife whose veneer of respectability barely conceals her nervous disposition. Easily flustered and quick to panic, she offers opportunities for extravagant reactions and sudden shifts from social niceties to outright hysteria.

MRS. WHITE

An enigmatic widow with a mournful manner and a suspicious history involving five deceased husbands. Her fascination with death makes her both unsettling and darkly funny. A role suited to deadpan delivery, simmering intensity, and carefully timed emotional eruptions.

COLONEL MUSTARD

A blustering military man whose confidence far exceeds his powers of deduction. Pompous, literal-minded, and easily confused, he approaches the unfolding mystery with an authority that his understanding of the situation rarely justifies.

PROFESSOR PLUM

A self-important academic with an inflated opinion of his intelligence and appeal. Smug and thoroughly impressed with himself, he offers opportunities for understated arrogance, questionable charm, and comic self-absorption.

MR. GREEN

An anxious, awkward rule-follower desperate to avoid trouble. His efforts to remain composed only make him appear more suspicious. A role for a performer with expressive reactions, precise physical comedy, and an ability to make nervousness entertaining.

ENSEMBLE WOMAN

The Cook, Singing Telegram Girl, Auxiliary Scarlet, Backup Cop - A versatile comic track contrasting the Cook’s intimidating gruffness with the Singing Telegram Girl’s cheerful song-and-tap appearance. Also includes a Scarlet double and a police role.

ENSEMBLE MAN 1

Mr. Boddy, The Motorist, Chief of Police - Three contrasting characters: the slick, ominous Mr. Boddy; a professional driver who arrives at the manor; and the authoritative Chief of Police. An opportunity for distinctly different voices, physicalities, and comic energies.

ENSEMBLE MAN 2

The Unexpected Cop, Backup Cop, Auxiliary Mustard - An everyday police officer, additional police support, and a Colonel Mustard double. A track emphasizing clear characterization, physical precision, and ensemble timing.
