Young Artists Program

In addition to two fully-staged productions in the summer, Civic Theatre’s Young Artists Program (YAP) is a year-round series of workshops and seminars designed just for high school students interested in improving their skills in a professional setting and looking to prepare for college auditions and beyond.

All workshops are taught by performers and instructors with extensive experience locally, regionally and nationally. YAP also includes intensive rehearsals, specialized workshops and performances. Training will focus on developing the skills needed to succeed professionally, including character development, vocal coaching and advanced dance technique.

FALL YAP WORKSHOPS
Each class is $25. Please enroll at the link below! All YAP classes are open to students in grades 9 - 12.

• Open Level Hip Hop with Devin Hill  - 12:00 to 1:30 PM - Hone your mad Hip-Hop skills in this energetic workshop with the amazing Devin Hill! Attend one or both days. Open to all skill levels. Students should wear appropriate attire for movement. A jazz shoe or boot is suggested but not required. Athletic shoes will suffice.

• Intermediate Tap with Sawyer Harvey - 1:30 to 3:00 PM - Get ready for some high-energy tapping with the smooth and dynamic Sawyer Harvey! Previous tap experience is suggested for this Intermediate Level Class. Tap shoes are REQUIRED for this class.

• Open Level Hip Hop with Devin Hill - 12:00 to 1:30PM -     See description above!

• FOSSE with Anne Beck - 1:30 - 3:00 PM - Civic Theatre's YAP program will produce the hit show CHICAGO in July of 2026! Get started on your Fosse technique now with our YAP coordinator and choreographer, Anne Beck! Open to all levels of experience. Students should wear appropriate attire for movement. A jazz shoe or boot is suggested but not required. Athletic shoes will suffice.
