2021 Jr. Civic Company Auditions

ANNOUNCING JR. CIVIC COMPANY AUDITIONS

The goal of the Jr. Civic Company is to offer our most advanced student actors a chance to hone their skills and expand the scope of their repertoire in a safe, professional and supportive setting. The Jr. Civic Company is dedicated to the development of good technique regardless of performance opportunity. Company members will be expected to maintain good standing with the Company and act as outstanding representatives Jr. Civic and Civic Theatre in the community-at-large.
• Cost of the program is $250.00 per Session ($500 total).

AUDITIONS

Who: Young actors in grades 4-8 who have completed at least one of the following prerequisites:

  • Previous member of Jr. Civic Company, ACT ONE, or ACT TOO!
  • Jr. Civic Mainstage Musical Cast
  • Jr. Civic Musical Theatre Camp
  • Any Intermediate or Advanced level class
  • At least two sessions of Musical Theatre Essentials or Fundamentals of Acting

*Admission into the Company is at the discretion of the directors despite any previous class experience.

When: Monday OR Tuesday, August 30th & 31st | 4.00-6.30pm

Where: Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre


What to prepare:

  • 16 bars of a musical theatre song – bring sheet music in the appropriate key.
  • A one-minute monologue, memorized (you may choose your own or click the button above for a list of monologues to choose from)
  • Bring appropriate clothing for a movement audition.

Auditioners will need to register online and choose a date to audition – either Monday 8/30 OR Tuesday 8/31. Once registered, you will receive an email containing your assigned audition time. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the assigned time to check-in.

The email will also contain a link to our website where more information about the Jr. Civic Company policies and requirements and schedule will be outlined.

Additionally, the website will provide a link to some monologues you can use in case you do not have one already prepared as well as information on how to choose and prepare your audition song.
