A CHORUS LINE Audition Information

YAP's  High School Summer Show, A CHORUS LINE,  Auditions will be taking place in conjunction with REVUE! Auditions. All high school students are eligible to audition. Please take a moment to print and fill out the following forms the streamline the audition process.

All auditioning must be present at the start of auditions. Please Select one audition date.

Saturday, April 27 @ 4:00PM

  • 3:30 PM: Registration Table Opens
  • 4:00 PM: Dance audition (all dance first!)
  • After the dance call: Vocal Auditions; please prepare 16 bars to sing
  • You may be asked to read from the script

Sunday, April 28 @ 6:00 PM 

  • 5:30 PM: Registration Table Opens
  • 6:00 PM: Dance audition (all dance first!)
  • After the dance call: Vocal Auditions; please prepare 16 bars to sing
  • You may be asked to read from the script


**Any student going into Grade 9 through graduating high school seniors are eligible to audition**

You will be dancing FIRST before you sing. Please prepare 16 bars of a song in the style of the show that best shows off your voice.

You may be asked to read a scene from the musical.

Be prepared: know what you are auditioning for, what are famous songs, who are the characters, watch the film, research productions on you tube. There are tons of resources these days to be most prepared for an excellent audition.

There will be a $120 supply and program fee if cast in A CHORUS LINE. Scholarships are available. More information will be available at the audition registration table about what this fee covers.

The director and choreographer of the show.

Zach’s assistant. 

Male. Baritone. From the Bronx . Street tough, macho, newly married to Kristine.

Female. Alto. From Boston. Very insecure about her looks, very funny, which is a cover for her insecurities. Feels a little excluded but just wants to be liked.

Male. Baritone. Flamboyant, funny, sassy and witty. Very sharp tongued. Covers everything over with a joke, had a very hard childhood. From upstate New York.

Female. Soprano. Older Dancer. Returning to the chorus after years of being a featured performer. Very strong dancer. Shy & kind hearted. Previously had a relationship with Zach.

Female. Alto. Experienced dancer. Short. Married. A bit of a mother hen with a great sense of humor. Born in Chinatown , Lower East Side , New York .

Female. Alto. Streetwise, a little bit tough, eternal optimist and starry eyed. A determined athletic dancer from the Bronx.

Male. Baritone. Ladies man, married, into cars, money, and women. Hedonist, cool, flirts with Maggie, very sure of himself. All American guy, Cocky, worked with Zach before. From Kansas City.

Male. Baritone. Over sexed, over drugged, done it all before. Gay. Very conscious of how he looks and appears to others. Quite a smart-alec and has worked with Zach before. Very East Side New York.

Female. Mezzo. Funny, gawky, nervous, scatterbrain. Warm and hopeful. Very awkward except when dancing.

Female. Mezzo. Wide-eyed, naive. Very nervous when not dancing. Married to Al.

 Female. Soprano. A sweetheart, little sister type. Dreamer. Fairly experienced dancer from California.

Male. Tenor. Optimistic, first timer, naive but charming. Great dancer and All-American kid. Very young from Arizona.

Male. Tenor. Quite aggressive, determined, cocky, sure of himself BUT likeable. Tap dancer who worked with Zach before. Experienced and flirts with the girls. From New Jersey.

Male. Baritone. Introverted and slightly insecure, but loves performing -¬‐ is only now starting to feel comfortable about being gay and accepted by his parents. From Spanish Harlem, New York. Friends with Diana.

Male. Tenor. From Missouri . African American, strong dancer, enthusiastic, cool and funny. Very likeable and laid back.

Female. Alto. Oldest dancer on the line. Brassy, sassy, and sophisticated. One of the more popular dancers, very funny.

Female. Mezzo. Sassy, funny & foul-mouthed. A brazen, direct, attention seeker from Vermont.

Will dance and sing throughout the show.
