ACT ONE is Jr. Civic’s premiere performing troupe and our ambassador to the communities we serve. Made up of 30 talented young performers from throughout the region, this group meets regularly during the year and will participate in community events all over metropolitan Indianapolis. Over the past few years, ACT ONE has performed at the Circle of Lights holiday event on Monument Circle (televised!), the Indiana State Museum, the Broad Ripple Art Fair and for the Indianapolis 500 Festival Kids’ Day. The performance group has also appeared in Civic Theatre’s annual fundraiser and performed during various community service activities. This season promises to be just as exciting with performances planned throughout the year. Repertoire focuses on songs and scenes from the Musical Theatre canon. Additionally, all ACT ONE participants will receive a 10% discount on all Jr. Civic workshops.
Admission into ACT ONE is by audition only! Young performers are required to sing 16 bars of a song (preferably a musical theatre piece) and will need to participate in a challenging movement audition.
