Jr Civic
From the Director’s Chair
Greetings and welcome to the 2012-2013 Season of JR. CIVIC – our 72nd!
Whether you are learning about our programs for the first time or you are a true “Jr. Civic family,” we hope you will join us for some of the fun and exciting learning opportunities we offer as the exclusive provider of educational programming at the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel.
All Jr. Civic classes are skill-based and focus primarily on technique and the importance of collaboration. Curriculum is designed to provide a clear path for moving upward through grade level as well as skill level. Convenient after-school and weekend scheduling as well as our easily accessible location means a no-hassle experience for parents as well!
In addition to our regular technique-based classes, Jr. Civic provides children and their families other ways to experience top-notch theatre education. These include ON-DEMAND programming, BACKSTAGE PASS tours, and the PLAY PASS program giving each student completing a class the chance to experience a live theatrical performance on our stage for free! For high school students, we are excited to reinstitute our Young Adult Program which will consist of year-round, specialized workshop programming as well as a 3-week intensive production program in the summer.
Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre offers year-round educational programming for youth, preschool through grade 12, and the TARKINGTON STUDIO SERIES of workshops for adults. We are proud that all of our classes are taught by local theatre professionals and are designed to strengthen and build confidence, advance growth, develop skills, create opportunities to make new friends, and foster a life-long love of live theatre. But, most of all – it’s FUN!
Welcome to JR. CIVIC!
