Jr Civic Summer Musical

SUMMER ON STAGE!
Jr. Civic Musical 2012

ONCE UPON A SHOE

by Joseph Robinette and James R. Shaw

A weary Mother Goose sadly announces to her many children that they are being evicted from their home—a large comfortable shoe—and must move to an old sneaker. To save their home, the children decide to put on a show by acting out some of their favorite Mother Goose rhymes. However, when performance day arrives, the fate of their beloved shoe lies “solely” in the hands of their only audience member, a stranger whose car broke down outside of town. The show includes humorous, musical twists on several Mother Goose classics such as Little Miss Muffet, Jack and Jill and Old King Cole.

This kids-only production is a highlight of the Jr. Civic season. Open to ages 6-14, this fully-staged musical attracts children from throughout the metro area and affords them the opportunity to participate in a professionally staffed, technically supported mainstage experience.
