Acting
Basic Acting – $175 for 10 weeks, Limit of 16 Students
Instructor: Robert Neal
This workshop is designed specifically for the new actor who wants to build self-confidence, learn how to analyze a script, develop a character, and work in a group setting to create a piece of live theatre. Amateur performers with little or no experience are welcomed into a nurturing environment where they can begin to grow and gradually understand the preparation that ultimately translates to performing for a live audience.
SPRING: Wednesdays (3/21 – 5/23), 7:00-8:30
Intermediate Acting – $175 for 10 weeks, Limit of 16 Students
Instructor: TBD
For the occasional actor who wants to build on basic skills and develop greater control, this class is a must. Using a variety of classical and contemporary repertoire, more time will be dedicated to voice and movement training, building a portfolio and increasing awareness of self. Students will leave this class with a greater understanding of what makes an actor tick and an appreciation of the body and voice as the actor’s instruments.
SPRING: Tuesdays (3/20 – 5/22), 7:00-8:30
Advanced Acting/One-Act Production – $175 for 10 weeks, Limit of 10 Students
Instructor: TBD
This course is designed with the experienced actor in mind. Class time will be spent expanding versatility and depth by dissecting scripts and characters and rehearsing a one-act play or plays that will be presented on the final day of class. By working together in this “production” setting, students will become more acquainted and at-ease with the tools actors use to accomplish compelling theatre. Students will be required to spend time outside of class rehearsing their play.
SPRING: Mondays (3/19 – 5/21), 7:00-8:30
*Previous class participation is preferred and it is suggested that students take Intermediate Acting before enrolling in this class. Other students will be admitted at the discretion of the Director of Education and the class instructor
