Lauded by Time Magazine as “best musical of the 20th century”, this Rodgers and Hammerstein classic won 5 Tony Awards for its 1994 Broadway revival. Set in a Maine coastal village toward the end of the 19th century, carnival barker Billy captivates and marries naïve millworker Julie. Desperate for money when he learns he will soon be a father, Billy is coerced into being an accomplice to a robbery. Caught and facing the certainty of prison, he takes his own life and is sent “up there”. Billy is allowed to return to earth for one day fifteen years later to make amends to the daughter he left behind. The show is a dramatic testament to the power of love and redemption.

“Beautiful, bountiful, beguiling.” – New York Daily Mirror
