WE WANT YOU TO BE THE FIRST TO KNOW
After a successful partnership with Marian University, Civic’s current lease expires in June 2012. Following a careful evaluation of a number of options regarding the Theatre’s future, our Board of Trustees has elected to move Civic Theatre to the new Regional Performing Arts Center complex located in downtown Carmel.
Civic will open its 2011-12 season in an exciting, 500-seat, state-of-the-art proscenium theatre. In addition, Civic will have access to a 200-seat second stage that will be ideal for more intimate performances. The Theatre will produce its mainstage shows at the Center in addition to its new Broadway concert series and children’s programming.
Our new location will offer an abundance of convenient parking and be within walking distance of restaurants and pubs for pre and post performance dining. Also, there will be enough room to expand Civic’s education program and maintain enough rehearsal and production space on site to create a theatre environment that is stimulating and artistically satisfying for cast and crew members alike.
Thanks to our new 100-year lease with the Regional Performing Arts Center, Civic Theatre is now positioned to serve this community with a sense of stability and permanence.
Thank you for your continued support of Civic Theatre. It has always been appreciated, but is needed more now as the transition process from one location to another begins. While our past is storied, our future could not be brighter. All of us have much to look forward to.
Warmly,
Pete Anderson, Chairman of the Board
