Indianapolis Civic Theatre has announced the show selection for its 2008-2009 SEASON, featuring an exciting mix of new and popular show titles that will inspire and entertain you. The season kicks off with LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, the hilarious and tuneful spoof of 1950s sci-fi movies about an exotic plant with a mysterious craving. The landmark Broadway musical WEST SIDE STORY transports Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet to modern-day New York City in a passionate tale of two idealistic lovers. Also in the line-up are Civic's debut productions of William Gibson's drama GOLDA'S BALCONY, the longest running one-woman show in Broadway history, and Ken Ludwig's hilarious adaptation of the vintage comedy TWENTIETH CENTURY, a riot on rails presented at a pace guaranteed to exhaust 21st century audiences. The Theatre's signature musical extravaganza THE WIZARD OF OZ returns for the holidays bringing the MGM film to magical life on stage.
